Water crystals

In dry times water crystals can really help to improve your soil's ability to take in and hold moisture. They are also the best way to stop your pots from drying out.

How do water crystals work?

Water crystals actually absorb water and hold moisture in the soil. They store water for plants to use later.

When should I use water crystals?

Use water crystals when you're planting in the ground as well as in pots and hanging baskets. It’s important to dig water crystals in so they hold the water where it is needed at the roots.

Wetting agents

Wetting agents play a vital part in reducing water use in your garden. They are great for soils that just don't seem to let the water soak in.

How do they work?

A wetting agent helps the water to soak into the soil by breaking down the waxes on soil particles. The water seeps in further, rather than evaporating off the surface of the soil, making more water available for your plants.

When should I use wetting agents?

As well as being great for saving water you can use a wetting agent for thatched lawns and for pots that have dried out.
