There is a growing complexity and depth in gardens. People are becoming more aware of the diversity and variety of plants available to help capture both the subtlety and flavour of the particular look they want. Just as this season’s fashions are all about texture, pattern, layers and detail, so too are gardens becoming more adventurous.

It’s all about using different materials, various heights or multiple layers in the landscaped garden; mixing locks of plants to create what’s known as ‘plant associations’, where the sum of the parts is greater than the individual worth of any particular component.

Careful blending of plants make a garden more visually interesting. This also gives plant artisans a chance to really show off their skills to achieve a highly individual and eclectic look.
