There are many ways you can encourage local fauna into your garden and the easiest is by including local plants for food and shelter.
Also provide some fresh water (but make sure it is out of reach of pets) and then add plenty of nooks and crannies for animals to hide in.
You can make these yourself using half buried pipes for lizards or by installing a nesting box for birds or possums.
Keep your pets friendly
Cats and dogs can injure and even kill local wildlife.
You can help by keeping your dog on a leash in and around bushland parks and by keeping your pets locked up at night.
Find out about your local wildlife rescue organisation, so you can contact them easily if you find injured wildlife.
